In recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month, Ilkhanoff & Silverstein, along with the Family Law Section of the York County Bar Association and the York County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program, will be sponsoring a screening of the anti-abuse documentaries Removed parts I and II in the Waldner Performing Arts Theatre at the York College of Pennsylvania (YCP) on Friday April 1, 2016. Attorney Bernard Ilkhanoff recently appeared on ABC 27 News to promote the film’s screening.
“We are involved because our [county bar’s] family law section is sponsoring this screening. Many of those attorneys are involved in the dependency system either as child advocates or attorneys for the parents. There is a real commitment to the cause of dependency. We are proud to be involved and to be dealing with a very important topic that affects so many people in our community,” commented Attorney Ilkhanoff.
The film was created with the intent of bringing awareness to the often overlooked subjects of foster care and child abuse. The screening will be completely free and will feature an opportunity for attendees to hear from some of the top specialists in the state about neglected and abused children. Ilkhanoff & Silverstein has been a longtime supporter of the York County CASA program and is committed to working to ensure all children have a safe home environment.
